How will I know if I have an STD?
There is a song by Whitney Houston called “How Will I Know?” with a part of the chorus lyrics going a little something like this:
“How will I know if he really loves me
I say a prayer with every heartbeat
fall in love whenever we meet
I’m asking you what you know about these things
How will I know if he’s thinking of me”
Ever wonder if the person you seem to be in love with is in love with you, too? How do you know?
There’s also the age old activity of pulling petals off of a flower and doing the “He loves me. He loves me not” and hoping with all your might that the last petal you tear off is “he loves me.”. But does this really give you an indication if the other person really loves you? Probably not. So, what are some ways to know if the other person really likes you or loves you?
Here are some signs of true love:
- Does this person respect you?
- Does this person respect your decisions?
- Does the person return your phone calls, texts, emails? Does the person communicate with you without you initiating the first form of communication?
- Does the person like to do things with you like go to the movies, or out for a meal or take a walk?
- Does this person compliment you often?
- Does this person care about your opinion?
These are just some simple ways to know if the person you are “in love” with loves you back. Make a list of qualities and traits you want in a partner and see how many of those your current partner meets. Being confident and knowing someone loves and cares about you just as much as you love and care about them can take a lot of stress out of a relationship and put you more at ease when you are together.
